GIO ABULADZE studied at the Tbilisi Music Conservatoire with Prof. E. Rusishvili. Throughout this period the Georgian pianist won the 4th prize at the 1st International Young Pianist's Competition in Tbilisi and won the Grand Prix at the 3rd International Music Competition “Renaissance“ in Armenia. In 2011 he was granted a DAAD scholarship and studied solo piano at the Freiburg University of Music with Prof. Michael Leuschner. In 2013 he received a prize from the Helene-Rosenberg-Foundation and successfully completed his Master of Music. During this time he was also honored as the prize winner for best pianist in the closing concert of “Forum Musikae“ in Madrid. In 2014-2016 Gio Abuladze continued further studies in “Lied Interpretation“ at the University of Music in Wuerzburg with Gerold Huber and worked at the same university as a tutor-korrepetitor. He has taken part in masterclasses and got further musical inspiration with P. Donohoe, D. Bashkirov, P. Badura-Skoda, E. Virsaladze, H.J. Strub, E. Andjaparidze, Cheryl Studer and Jörg Widman. Gio Abuladze was also granted a scholarship of the Richard Wagner Society. He has given concerts all over Europe as a solist or Lied-Accompanist. In 2017 he recorded a CD of “A Poet's Love“ by Robert Schumann with Oliver Kringel and “Wagner's Wesendock Lieder“ with the world famous Mezzosoprano Daniela Sindram. Between 2017 and 2023 he was teaching piano at the University in Würzburg. Nowadays Gio Abuladze is a répétiteur at the University for Music and Theater »Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy« in Leipzig and the University in Bamberg. Since 2023 he is vice-principal at Vocational School for Music Upper Franconia (Berufsfachschule für Musik Oberfranken) and principal piano teacher.
